REQUEST FOR BID
STUDENT TRANSPORTATION SERVICES
2011-2012 SCHOOL YEAR
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, the Union City Board of Education (“Board”) is soliciting sealed bids for student transportation services for the 2011-2012 school year for the Union City School District.
Bids shall be received by the Interim Board Secretary, or his designee, on
August 19, 2011, at 10:30 a.m., prevailing time at 3912 Bergen Turnpike, Union City, New Jersey 07087, at which time said responses will be publicly opened and read.
All bids must be on the forms obtained from the Board. The bidder must submit an original and four (4) copies of its response in a sealed envelope bearing the name and address of the bidder and the words: “Sealed Bid - Student Transportation Services – To/From School”. The envelope must be addressed to the Interim Board Secretary at the address listed above, and may be delivered by hand, overnight courier or mail. The envelope containing the bid must be received by the Board by the date and time set forth above. No late responses shall be accepted.
Specifications and other bid documents may be inspected and obtained at the Board’s Headquarters, 3912 Bergen Turnpike, Union City, New Jersey 07087, telephone (201) 348-5887, during business hours, 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The fee for the Bid Documents is twenty-five dollars ($25.00), payable in cash or certified check to the Union City Board of Education.
Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier’s check or bid bond from a surety company licensed to do business in New Jersey, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total cost in the bid submitted, but not in excess of $50,000.00, made payable to the Union City Board of Education.
Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31, et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27.
The contract(s) will be awarded to the bidder(s), whose responses is/are most advantageous, price and other factors considered. The Board reserves the right to waive any minor irregularities in or to reject any or all bids.
